Peritoneal dialysis patients requiring nutritional supplementation can obtain this through alternate routes such as oral/enteral or parenteral supplementation depending on their specific needs and clinical condition. Peritoneal dialysis can be maintained in patients through the various dialysis solutions available within the Baxter portfolio (Dianeal product line, Physioneal product line or Extraneal). It will be up to the healthcare professional to select the appropriate solution based on the patient needs. Baxter’s timeline to discontinue Nutrineal is approximately one year from official discontinuation notification allowing the healthcare team ample time to determine alternate means of nutritional support based on the patient requirements. |
